Job Summary:
The Treasury Manager role is responsible for managing a team responsible for the daily funding onto warehouse lines and sales of loans originated by Stearns Lending and affiliated joint ventures.  The role involves collaborating with warehouse lenders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of funds;  collaborating with the operations teams to resolve funding issues in an expedited manner;  delivering data and collateral transfer instructions to warehouse lenders and custodians to facilitate sale of loans to third-party investors; and working with the Collateral management group and Loans funding offices internally.  
Job Responsibilities:
  • Interact and manage the Treasury Funding team responsible for daily loan fundings onto warehouse lines of credit and loan sales and transfers to investors.   Treasury Funding team responsibilities include:
  • Management of daily funding queue and intraday reconciliation of funding requests to prevent missed or double fundings;  daily review of funding reconciliations to assure that fundings were recorded correctly by Stearns and the warehouse banks
  • Timely and accurate extraction of loan funding requests from internal Loan Origination Systems (DataTrac and Empower)
  • Timely and accurate uploading of funding files and required documentation to warehouse banks
  • Timely review and response to all email inquiries related to fundings
  • Management of return wire process for unfundings
  • Process closing agent approvals and updates to E&O policies in advance of funding dates
  • Extraction of Federal Reference Numbers from Warehouse Lender websites; uploading of files to LOS
  • Timely and accurate preparation and delivery of collateral data and Portfolio Reports
  • Maintain consistent communication within the Treasury Funding team, Operations and other applicable internal groups and warehouse banks on funding status and to resolve any hurdles to completing fundings
  • Complete or satisfactorily delegate any daily responsibilities for missing team members or other barriers to loan fundings or sales
  • Gain a comprehensive knowledge of all loan funding and sale processes and procedures;  identify opportunities for technical and process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy;  act as a representative to Accounting, IT, and management on these processes
Desired Skills, Experience, or Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Management, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Management, Finance, Reporting or similar functions
  • Mortgage experience a plus, but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage a team and communicate a sense of urgency
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable with routine tasks
  • Needs to be able to work within tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn and become proficient in a variety of technical systems – internal origination systems, bank websites, Microsoft Excel
